We have had both of our sew-ins for the Yellow Ribbon Quilt Project 2009. There was a great turn out, both on Saturday during the day and on Monday evening. We got a lot done towards creating the quilts. We were so excited to have a visit from Nicole Dullaghan, who is helping me to coordinate this project with the troops. It was so exciting to meet her and she was so very appreciative of our efforts to provide quilts for the troops. Nicole told us that according to word from Afghanistan, it has started to get quite cold at night so the quilts will be very welcome.
Please take a few minutes to see the photos of the sew-in. There are pictures of the ladies that have spent many hours working on these wonderful quilts and photos of some of the quilts as well. Please continue to check back as more photos will be added when all of the quilts are completed and when we take them to the post office.
This is a very exciting project, one that I hope will be picked up by guilds all over the United States. As you know there are a lot of men and women from all branches of the United States military in Afghanistan. We want them all to know that the folks at home care about them and are praying for their safe return home.
